When we started building State of Stick, the original idea was simple: create something physical that people would want to keep.
What started as custom-made emblems and physical designs evolved into something much bigger—a way for physical objects to have a digital life. A way for products, brands, artists, and creators to create deeper connections with the people who own them.
But as we built this technology, we realized something important:
The future of connected products cannot just be built on technology.
It has to be built on trust.
Technology Is Only as Valuable as the Trust Behind It
Today, it is easier than ever to create digital experiences around physical products. But customers are also more skeptical than ever.
People want to know:
- Is this product authentic?
- Who made it?
- Where did it come from?
- Can I trust the story behind it?
- Is the company standing behind what it creates?
At State of Stick, we believe the answer is not to hide behind technology.
The answer is transparency.
Open About Our Journey
We want people to see the journey.
We want our customers, partners, and collaborators to understand who we are, who we work with, and why we are building this.
That means sharing:
- The brands and organizations we collaborate with, when we have permission to do so
- The creators and companies helping shape the platform
- The real-world applications we are developing
- The lessons we learn along the way
We believe innovation is stronger when it is built in public. That also means being precise. We will distinguish between an idea, a proposal, a pilot, and a proven result. We will not present a company as a partner, customer, or sponsor unless that relationship is real and we are authorized to share it.
Transparency Does Not Mean Giving Away Innovation
There is an important difference between being transparent and giving away the things that make a company unique.
We will always be open about our mission, our values, and the experiences we create.
At the same time, we protect the proprietary methods, systems, manufacturing knowledge, and processes that allow us to deliver those experiences. We also respect the confidential information entrusted to us by customers and partners.
That balance matters.
A great company should be able to say:
Here is what we stand for. Here is what we built. Here is why it matters.
Without having to reveal every detail that makes the system work.
Standing Behind What We Create
State of Stick exists because we believe physical products deserve a better future.
A product should not end its story when it leaves the store.
It should be able to continue:
- Sharing its origin
- Connecting customers with brands
- Creating new experiences
- Building communities
- Providing confidence and authenticity when the product and validation method support those claims
We are building tools that help brands create those connections, but the foundation is always the same:
Trust.
Trust also requires honesty about what our system can—and cannot—prove. A connected experience is not automatically authentication. When we describe validation or authenticity, we will explain what is actually being validated and stand behind the claims we make.
The Companies We Work With Matter
The partners we choose are part of our story.
We are not interested in simply putting technology on products. We want to work with organizations that care about quality, creativity, craftsmanship, and their customers.
The best technology in the world cannot replace a great story.
It can only help that story travel further.
Our collaborators deserve the same integrity we promise our customers. We will credit their contributions, seek permission before using their names or work, honor confidentiality, and be clear about each organization’s role.
Our Promise
As State of Stick continues to grow, we want people to know exactly what kind of company we are building.
A company built on:
- Transparency
- Integrity
- Innovation
- Collaboration
- Respect for our customers and partners
We will share the work. We will tell the truth about where we are. We will protect what should remain confidential. And when we make a mistake, we will correct it.
We believe the future of products is connected.
But the future of business must be trusted.
That is the connection we care about most.
